[which firearm] is it a no-brainer?

You're on the run from baddies, you stumble upon a munitions room and these four below are your only choices - which do you choose and why?

The magazines for the Beretta 92FS chambered in 9mm are able to be utilized by the Cx4 (also chambered in 9mm). This aids in a smaller loadout.

The Five-seveN® comes standard with 20-round magazine, fires the 5.7x28mm SS190 Ball round which reliably penetrates Kevlar helmets and vests as well as CRISAT protection and has extremely low recoil impulse results in virtually no muzzle climb, thereby facilitating fast and controllable follow-up shots.

The 1911 remains popular because it’s an efficient tool. In more than 30 years of experience, I’ve met more competent, serious gunmen who carry 1911’s than those who pack any other handgun. They are professionals – policemen, government agents and others who carry handguns daily because the know their live may depend on it…

It is one of the few submachine guns that can consistently provide stopping power against armored targets, and has a significantly longer range than submachine guns using the 9 mm Luger Parabellum cartridge. Additionally, the UMP9 is almost 0.45 kg lighter than the 9 mm MP5.

  1. What an.....informative post! :)

I don't think I like guns very much. I find them quite scary.

  2. There are many blogs out there that rate weapons for each type of situation. However the most common weapon in existence seems to be missing. I refer to an AK47 which I thought would be high on your list.

  4. Erm... The UMP45 is probably the easiest to use...

  5. If, however, you're running from zombies, etiquette requires you to use a chainsaw or a cro-bar.

  6. M1911, no contest. In documented police shootings using a 230 gr Federal Hydra-SHOK chambered for .45 ACP, there is a 93% (if I´m not mistaken) one stop drop, meaning you shoot the criminal and he goes right to the ground. Of those 7% that don´t immediately go down, not one has made it more than ten feet before collapsing. The Beretta I´m not too keen on, 9mm, because I´ve heard reports of our people in Iraq and Afghanistan having to use their sidearm and repeatedly shoot jihadists in the heart, as even though their dead, they can still move due to being injected with painkillers beforehand. If they were hit once with an M1911, they´d be down and stay down. Personally, I think the UMP chambered for .45 ACP is too much. 9mm is fine for submachine guns in my opinion.

  7. Dave - enough! lol

Matt - there is the other side of it too - being the one shot. Now I'd rather it was an M1911 - one second alive - the next in Heaven than to have little bullets strafing me and leaving me crippled and slowly dying. That's cruel. M1911 - gets the job over and done with pronto.
