[thanksgiving] for the good things we still enjoy

To our very dear friends in the U.S. - have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and close friends. This Englishman does not know precisely the words to say to you but he wishes you happiness and continued prosperity.

May the dialogue between our nations continue and all of us continue to fight for the values represented by Thanksgiving and fight for them together.

This blog considers ther relations between all free thinking people of the world vital and though patriotism is a fine thing, we must never forget all our friends who believe in the same thing.

So today - eat, drink and be merry and we'll cheer you on. I'm getting hungry just thinking about those laden tables and would like to be over there with you.

  1. They give thanks because they got to America away from King James 1st the one that Guy Fawkes tried to blow up.

They also give thanks that they had food the first year...

Now our government is as oppressive and there is no New World to go to

What's left? Is there anything good left?

Oh boy here I go catastrophising again

  2. James,

Yes well said. May they be happy and enjoy.

I'm sad because I've always wanted to do a road trip there but cannot countenance the thought of putting up with their draconian customs. Why should anyone in transit have to subject themselves to biometric testing? Grr.

But. All the Mericans I've ever known have been lovely people; probably because they have taken the time to explore outside the States. So goodwill to all.

And you just knew I'd do this....

I've been following your posts re Common Purpose but lost the thread and am becoming frustrated searching; please point me in the right direction, thanks.

    STB.

In future I'll start to keep a register of these things but found these by search just now.

    Cheers, James
